What You Should NOT Wear To A Ball

When you hear that someone is hosting a ball what do you picture? Do you picture the host standing on speakers waving his hand back and forth with amicrophone in one hand and a cup of alcohol in the other? Do you picture strippers sliding down poles and giving lap dances? Do you even picture a bar? If you visualized any of these images you may be confused. So are the people who wear short cocktail dresses that are very revealing. There is a huge difference between club attire and ball attire! A ball is meant to be a formal and calm event. So where is the proper etiquette?? Many people are so used to dressing in clothes that are revealing they do it any and every where! The ideal ball attire for a woman would be a long glamorous halter dress with glass shoes...simple jewelry maybe some long diamond dangling earrings. Her hair is most likely to be in an updo. This is more traditional and classic. Not the stripper heels with the short dress, back out and cleavage hanging out. Gowns are the classic ball attire that is where the word "ball gown" originated from.

Some Clothes Should Not Be Made In Plus Size

Being over weight of course has it's limits. Your ability to be active and energetic...limited... Your ability to fit into spaces that average weight people can fit in...limited....The amount of greasy and unhealthy foods you can continue to consume before your arteries get clogged and cause a massive heart attack...limited.... But what about the length of clothes you wear and what about the tightness of clothes you wear? should this also be limited? There are clothes that I just believe shouldn't be made in plus sizes. For example, leggings. Leggings are meant to be tight and fitted to the body but what if you have too much body? Some things just appear to be disgusting. Some overweight people rather dress to be revealing rather than appropiate. Some things that are initially made for an average weight person wear will take away from the fashion sense when it is made to fit an overweight person. There is nothing at all wrong with being confident and loving your body but when it comes down to things such as fashion, there should be a limit. Another example is short pants. Short pants, of course, are not made to be lengthy at all. But when are shorts too short? Even average weight people can some times wear short that are too revealing but what about the things that others don't want to see. Such as loose fat swinging when someone over weight struts around in them? Shorts should be made lengthier for plus size women just being considerate of themselves but especially others. Dresses should not be made where it reveals too much fat and are too short. As long as these clothes are being made the more plus size people buy them thinking that it's okay to rock these clothes; which can be a disgrace to their own body. Some fashion should be limited with it comes down to over weight people. In reference of this blog, I am not discriminating against any sizes this blog is completely opinionated. Thanks for reading!!!

Designer VS. Average Fashion; What's Really Better?

Does a Logo with the name "Gucci" on a wallet make it more qualified than a basic wallet from Family Dollar or K-mart? Does the "Gucci Wallet" make the money that you obviously wasted buying it with reappear inside of it? The answer...is...no! Does buying a nice-looking wallet out of Family Dollar meets it's purpose AND save you money to keep in it?...Yes!! Does a pair of shoes with a nike logo eliminate the pain and discomfort of walking long distances? Do the shoes make you eager to walk to class or motivate you to go for a run when you need to lose some weight? Does a Baby Phat watch with diamonds sorrounding the time speed time up when you're bored some place you rather not be? Or does it freeze time when you get stopped by a police for speeding so that you can relocate and forget that it happend? My point exactly, designer fashion does not make that fashion piece any more qualified than the average fashion piece. Spending more money is also wasting more money especially if you are trying to keep up with the Joneses. I can go out a buy a beautiful purse that isn't name brand like on my left and spend less money but also take pride in it! Keep it clean neat and organized and take care of it. It will keep it's value. Or I can buy a 250$ prada purse like the one to my right and sit there looking at it just like you are, wondering how it can better my life because I just wasted about 210$.

Your Fashion Speaks Before You Do

Everyone has their own style of fashion. A complete stranger would probably use your style to indicate your personality. It is natural to initially judge individuals by their outer appearance because you have no clue about who they really are inside. It would be difficult to figure out a baby’s personality because they aren’t able to choose their appearance normally their parents or guardians do. But for those who choose their fashion it will most likely represent who you are as an individual. A woman walking down the street wearing a suit and heels would probably be a business woman. A man who is wearing designer clothes, shades, shoes, jewelry, with a nice haircut is probably rich. A boy wearing pants sagging below his butt, a tank top, a big chain and a red bandana is probably a gangster. A woman wearing a tight, short skirt, a see through tank top, 5 inch glitter heels is more than likely a stripper. People can define you by the things that you wear.

Business Attire Really Does Matter

When we hear the word “business”, we think about serious work. Not fashion. However, fashion plays a big role in business. When it comes down to business most people choose a wardrobe that suits that type of business. If a woman walked up to you offering what she claims to be one of the best insurance companies ever, would her appearance affect you? Let’s say the woman had on some sweatpants, sneakers, a nike tee-shirt, and a fitted cap. Wouldn’t she be one of the biggest jokes? What if her sweatpants and tee-shirt was a nice black and white 2-piece suit and those sneakers were a pair of black in heels. And let’s say that the hat disappeared and beneath it was a beautiful hairstyle. If this was the case, you would probably consider her business and make it a success. Fashion plays a big part.

When Fall Has Landed!!

When spring first turns into fall the weather continuously changes from warm to cool for a period of time. When it comes down to fashion that period of time can be quite confusing. Sometimes the mornings and nights are cool then the days become hot. When the weather is this confusing people tend to make poor fashion choices. For example, on today the weather reached 88 degrees and I couldn’t take my eyes of a boy who wore short pants with timberland boots. I’m guessing the idea of the boots came from the fact that fall had set in and the shorts indicated that the weather still gets pretty warm. Unfortunately, he looked like a fool. Boots and shorts on a male is not the ideal outfit. Regular sneakers would have perfectly done the job. A few days earlier as I walked to class, I noticed a girl who was wearing tight booty shorts, a fleece, and snow boots. This day was one of the cooler days and I still wonder why she insisted wearing small shorts. Unless your body temperature differs throughout your body this combination is a fashion no-no!

What's Proper Church Attire?

It is often said "Come as you are", when the subject consists of individuals coming to church, but after a period of time, he/she should be able to distinguish what is proper attire for Church. Throughout my entire life, I have been a church-going girl and have seen many inappropiate wardrobe choices. For example, the past Sunday a young lady who has became a member of my church for atleast five months, wore tight gray leggins and a white shirt that fell on her shoulders and showed her bra straps. When in the "house of God" it is disrespectful to present and bring attention to those body parts. Not only did she wore improper church attire but also her sister. Maybe this was a genetic things, or maybe they weren't taught what's appropiate to wear to church. The sister wore a short skirt with an split in the back that rose above her knees and showed her upper legs; very inappropiate. One appropiate outfit for church would be a nice suit like the one in the picture.
